Singer DaniLeigh Released On $9,500 Bond After Being Arrested For DUI Hit & Run, Alleged Victim Suffers Fractured Spine
It looks like DaniLeigh has found herself in a bit of legal trouble.
The 28-year-old singer/choreographer was arrested Tuesday (May 30) morning in Miami for a DUI hit & run that left one person seriously injured.
According to the police report, witnesses say they saw DaniLeigh swerving lanes at high speed. She then struck someone who was riding a motor scooter and dragged the moped for about a block. A bystander flagged down a nearby officer who then initiated a stop.

During the stop, the officer claims DaniLeigh reeked of alcohol. She eventually failed field sobriety tests and was ordered to take a breathalyzer test. According to the officer, she blew 0.145 and 0.148 on the test, which is nearly twice the legal limit.
DaniLeigh was then arrested and taken into custody around 8:15 am Tuesday at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She was booked on three felony charges including, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and damage to property.

The victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami where he was treated for a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture.
The “Easy” singer was later released on a $9,500 bond.
DaniLeigh has yet to comment on the incident.

A South Carolina community is recovering following the tragic murder of a young boy.
According to recent reports, 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton was fatally shot by 58-year-old Columbia convenience store owner Rick Chow, who wrongfully thought the child was shoplifting.
Reportedly, the tragic altercation happened this past Sunday (May 28th). Rick Chow, owner of the Shell gas station where the incident took place, suspected Cyrus of stealing and verbally harassed him until he exited the store. Subsequently, Chow and his son reportedly chased Cyrus to a set of nearby apartments where the store owner fired off a fatal shot in the young boy’s back.
Following an investigation, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department reportedly claimed there was no evidence that Cyrus stole nor intended to steal. Protesters quickly organized and gathered outside of the gas station with signs reading:
“RICK MURDERED A CHILD”
And:
“No child deserves to die over WATER #JusticeforCyrus”
Video camera footage reportedly showed Cyrus removing several water bottles from the store’s cooler before putting them back. This, according to the investigation, is what led Chow to believe the boy was robbing him. During a press conference, Richland County Coroner, Naida Rutherford, reportedly made clear that the shooting was an intentional decision, not an accident. She stated:
“This was not an accidental shooting by any means. This was a very intentional shooting…Unfortunately, Cyrus Carmack-Belton lost his life.”
Sheriff Leon Lott added:
“Regardless, even if he had shoplifted four bottles of water, which is what he initially took out of the cooler and then he put them back, even if he’d done that, that’s not something you shoot anybody over, much less a 14-year-old, but you just don’t do that,”

In the aftermath of the murder, the community has continued to struggle to come to terms with the senseless loss of a young life. Community member Valisa Palmer reportedly told news outlets:
“A 14 year old has lost their life. It grieves our hearts…I did not think something like this could happen in our community.”
While Tameeka Allen added:
“This is senseless. You got a human life gone for a bottle of water…You got two things in life, judicial justice and street justice, and we’re here to get it done the right way.”
Authorities added in the report that they did recover a gun near Cyrus’ body, but had no evidence it belonged to him or that it was used in a threatening manner. As the investigation continues, the community continues to mourn Cyrus’ life and is seemingly committed to fighting for justice. Reportedly, applause rang out at the gas station earlier today (May 30) as news of Chow’s murder charge was announced. He is reportedly being held at the Alvin S Glenn detention center in South Carolina.

Memorial Day Mass Shooting In Florida Leaves 9 Injured, Including 4 Minors
A mass shooting took place on Monday ( May 29) at a popular beach in Hollywood, Florida, leaving 9 people injured.
According to reports, gunfire erupted after two groups got into a heated argument, sending dozens of people running for cover and fleeing to safety. The shooting occurred in a busy area along Hollywood Beach that is surrounded by bars, restaurants and hotels.
Videos have surfaced online depicting the chaos that took place. One video showed the moment shots were fired causing people to run and duck for cover. Other video clips showed police and bystanders rendering aid to victims.
According to police spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi, four children between the ages of 1 and 17 were struck, as well as five adults between 25-65. Thankfully, all 9 victims are said to be in stable condition. Police have at least one person in custody but are searching for more suspects.
Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy said that he was “deeply saddened and angered” by the shooting, calling it “completely unacceptable.”
“People come to enjoy a holiday weekend on the beach with their families and to have people in complete reckless disregard of the safety of the public and to have an altercation with guns in a public setting with thousands of people around them is beyond reckless.”
Levy continued,
“The Hollywood Police Department will leave no stone unturned. We do not appreciate when people come into our city with guns and have an altercation in the midst of a public setting here.”
This incident marked the 262nd mass shooting in America this year.

An NYC attorney is out of a job after he physically assaulted a woman on the street.
Earlier today (May 30) Leader Berkon Colao & Silverstein LLP released a statement and shared that an associate from their New York City office has been fired for his “inappropriate behavior.”
Over the weekend a viral TikTok was shared of the associate — a man named Anthony P Orlich — being confronted for maliciously snatching the wig off of a Black woman, TikToker/musician who goes by the name Lizzy Ashliegh.

The NYC singer wrote over the clip,
“This man just took off my wig and kept on walking. There’s demons in NY, I SWEAR!”
In the video, Lizzy Ashliegh attempted to receive an explanation as to why Orlich wrongfully removed her hairpiece. However, after not receiving an answer, the Brooklyn musician continued to question Orlich. She frustratingly asked,
“Sir! For what f*cking reason?!”
Lizzy Ashliegh then screamed,
“For what reason did you take my wig off?”

She continued,
“What made you think that was the good thing to do? Why’d you do that? What makes you think that that’s OK?”
After the man seemingly cut a smirk on his face, Lizzy fired back,
“It’s not funny. You don’t even f*cking know me. Do you hate women or something?”
While the alleged attacker’s friends appeared to try to get him to apologize to Lizzy for the offense, he refused to acknowledge what he had done. In the footage, Orlich is seen repeatedly asking his friends,
“[Apologize] For what?”

In a follow-up video, Lizzy shared the damage the snatching of the wig caused to her neck. Because her natural strands had been attached to the headpiece using combs, it required a lot of force to snatch the wig off, according to Lizzy.

After notifying authorities, Lizzy shared another update with her followers and added,

At the end of the clip, she noted that her doctor prescribed her muscle relaxers to relieve the tension in her neck.

Parents of seniors at Marlin High School are outraged.
According to reports, the Texas institution’s leaders are under fire after it was discovered that only 5 of the 33 seniors were eligible to graduate.
Reportedly, officials running the school located in Marlin, Texas sent letters to parents of the senior class only a few days before the scheduled graduation, notifying them of their child’s inability to participate. It’s reported that issues pertaining to the students’ grades and attendance caused 28 of the 33 supposed graduates to fall out of compliance with the state’s requirement for graduation, leaving only 5 students ready to walk the stage. However, a recent update to the story reported that the number has since improved to 17.
To rectify the situation, the school announced they’ll be pushing the ceremony to a later date in June to give students more time to turn in work and receive extra credit opportunities. The school’s Superintendent Dr. Darryl Henson reportedly released a statement as the news began making headlines, stating:
“We hold firm to our belief that every student in Marlin ISD can and will achieve their potential. We maintain high expectations, not as an imposition, but as a show of faith in our students abilities…As we navigate these challenges, one thing is clear: students in Marlin ISD will be held to the same high standard as any other student in Texas,”
Some students interviewed stated that they were shocked to learn they wouldn’t be graduating. One reportedly stated:
”They’re saying that I’m missing an elective class, but with that I don’t understand because in 9th grade I took a typing class,”
And another added:
”It’s a bag of emotions, anxiety and a bit of disappointment,”
A mandatory senior parent meeting was subsequently scheduled, where parents threw the majority of the blame on the administrators. According to the guardians, poor actions from leadership — such as last-minute policy changes, lack of communication, and administrative error — are the reasons for such a disaster. Thankfully, following the heated exchange, parents and educators were able to have some productive dialogue and plan to work together to avoid any other conflicts such as this in the future.
The exact date of the rescheduled graduation has not yet been released.

The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) may be dealing with some serious financial troubles.
According to reports, the national organization is at risk of going bankrupt after its finances plunged $8.5 million into the red in 2022. BLMGNF isn’t the only organization with ties to the Black Lives Matter movement, but, it’s seemingly the most known and well-funded.
However, the foundation’s latest Form 990 – which is the IRS’ main resource for obtaining information about a tax-exempt organization – reportedly depicts financial losses and a great decrease in donations.
Prior to BLMGNF’s recent mishap, for the period between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021, the organization reported donations of nearly $77 million, while net assets amounted to $42 million. Unfortunately, for the following period, there was a noticeable difference, with reported donations dropping to $9.3 million and net assets decreasing to $30 million.

Despite this, BLMGNF was somehow still able to pay family members of the former executive director of the foundation – Patrisse Cullors – seven-figure salaries.
According to financial documents obtained by The Washington Free Beacon – a conservative website – Patrisse Cullors’ brother Paul was paid $1.6 million last year to provide “professional security services.” In addition, he reportedly received a $126,000 salary as “head of security” for the foundation.
Shalomyah Bowers, the foundation’s board secretary, was reportedly paid almost $1.7 million for management and consulting services.
As previously reported, in 2021, following allegations of her misusing BLMGNF’s funds, Patrisse Cullors resigned from her role. She denied the claims against her and said they had nothing to do with her exit.

Jamie Foxx’s Hollywood friends are continuing to send him well wishes amid his current hospitalization.
As previously reported, in April Jamie Foxx was taken to an Atlanta hospital for an undisclosed “medical complication.” Recent reports claim the famed actor was transported to a Chicago-based physical medicine and rehabilitation center this month that specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation. Jamie Foxx’s team has yet to reveal why he’s receiving treatment at the facility, however, Mike Tyson said he was informed that his friend is recovering from a stroke.
During a recent podcast interview, the retired athlete shared,
“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke.”
Later in the conversation, he added,
“I have no idea what happened to him.”
Mike Tyson then expressed,
“Hey, listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we are gonna die. … After we leave, this bad stuff can happen.”

As mentioned above, those close to Foxx have been pretty tight-lipped about what’s going on with him. When asked why they haven’t spoken out, Mike Tyson replied,
“If we don’t know about it by now, they don’t want us to know.”
Due to his current medical condition, a couple of projects Foxx was working on have had to continue without him. You may recall that Nick Cannon was tapped to replace Foxx as the host for the music game series, “Beat Shazam.”

TikTok is fighting back after Montana banned the short-form video app in the western state.
On Monday (May 22), TikTok filed a lawsuit at the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana seeking to have the state’s newly formed law overturned. According to reports, usage of the platform could result in penalties and fines, which the media company deems unconstitutional.
TikTok’s lawsuit reads,
“Montana’s ban abridges freedom of speech in violation of the First Amendment, violates the U.S. Constitution in multiple other respects, and is preempted by federal law.”
The creator of TikTok shared in a statement,
“We are challenging Montana’s unconstitutional TikTok ban to protect our business and the hundreds of thousands of TikTok users in Montana. We believe our legal challenge will prevail based on an exceedingly strong set of precedents and facts.”
TikTok is reportedly owned by ByteDance, a China-based internet conglomerate. The ban was signed into law last week by Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte. Under the new law, it says that China’s government
“exercises control and oversight over ByteDance, like other Chinese corporations, and can direct the company to share user information, including real-time physical locations of users.”
In addition, the law claims that
“TikTok fails to remove, and may even promote, dangerous content that directs minors to engage in dangerous activities.”
According to reports, starting January 1, 2024, TikTok could face fines of up to $10,000 per day for each violation if the app doesn’t shut down in the state. On top of that, Montana could charge penalties against Apple and Google if they allow users in the state to download the app through their app stores.
As a response to the ban, TikTok said Montana’s claims that the Chinese government could access data on TikTok users and that the app “exposes minors to harmful online content” are unsubstantiated. In the suit, TikTok said that the state,
“cites nothing to support these allegations, and the state’s bare speculation ignores the reality that plaintiff has not shared, and would not share, U.S. user data with the Chinese government, and has taken substantial measures to protect the privacy and security of TikTok users, including by storing all U.S. user data by default in the United States and by erecting safeguards to protect U.S. user data.”

Update #3: (May 22, 2023): Jamie Foxx’s loved ones are surrounding him as he continues to recover from an undisclosed “medical complication.”
According to TMZ, over the weekend, friends and family of the famed actor visited him at the Chicago-based physical medicine and rehabilitation center he’s receiving treatment. Paparazzi captured images of Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, his close friend, Dave Brown, and others leaving the facility. Reportedly, they looked serious upon their exit.
At this time, no other updates have been provided and it’s still unclear why exactly Jamie was hospitalized. However, as we previously reported, the facility providing Jamie with treatment specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has discovered that Black taxpayers are audited at higher rates than any other race.
The findings come after researchers found that Black Americans are up to five times more likely to have their federal tax returns audited than taxpayers of other races.
The internal investigation was brought on after lawmakers and policy experts called on the IRS to review its auditing processes following the findings about Black taxpayers.

Cash App founder Bob Lee was reportedly having an affair with the sister of his alleged killer.
When reports of Bob Lee’s murder initially broke, many people assumed it was the result of random street violence. However, it now looks like the software engineer was living a double life that eventually played into his tragic demise.
According to reports, Bob Lee, 43, enjoyed San Francisco’s underground party scene — known as “The Lifestyle” — as did Khazar Momeni, wife of a prominent plastic surgeon and sister of Nima Momeni, Lee’s alleged killer. People familiar with the group said Lee and Khazar, 37, were sleeping together. Nima, 38, — who had reportedly known Lee for a decade —confronted him about his sister prior to the stabbing.
Reportedly, Lee and Khazar had been drinking with friends at a house party. Things turned left when Nima came to pick up Khazar. According to court records, Nima asked Bob Lee if Khazar “was doing drugs or anything inappropriate.” According to witnesses at the scene, Lee told Nima that his sister had not taken any drugs and “nothing inappropriate had happened.”

An autopsy report from the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed Lee had cocaine and ketamine in his system when he died.
Later that evening, Nima and Lee both arrived separately at Khazar’s apartment, before leaving together at 2:04 a.m. in Nima’s white BMW Z4. According to prosecutors, Nima drove Lee to a “dark and secluded” San Francisco street corner and stabbed him in a “planned and deliberate attack.”
Around the time of his murder, Khazar texted Lee and said:
“Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause [I] know nima came wayyyyyy down hard on you. Thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class. Love you Selfish pricks.”
However, Krista Lee, Lee’s ex-wife, denied her former husband was a “party boy” and claimed she never heard the term “The Lifestyle.” She told sources,
“He was a dedicated father. He was more mature than that.”
She also said,
“He was kind and generous — he saw the good in everybody.”
Police arrested Nima on April 13 on murder charges for the fatal stabbing of Lee. He is being held without bail until his arraignment. According to his attorney, he plans on pleading not guilty.
If convicted, he faces 26 years to life in prison.

As previously reported, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized in Atlanta last month for an undisclosed medical reason. New reports claim the actor is doing better but he’s now receiving medical treatment at the top physical medicine and rehabilitation center located in Chicago.
As of now, it’s still unclear why Jamie was initially taken to the hospital or what exactly he’s been dealing with. But, it’s been reported that his new medical facility specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.
Insiders shared with TMZ that Jamie arrived at the Chicago-based facility in late April and he’s “recovering well.” Over the weekend paparazzi captured Jamie’s family in Chicago, seemingly in the windy city to check in on the “Collateral” star.

Vice Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday (May 15) to facilitate a sale of the company and protect its future.
Vice Media publishes news, technology and lifestyle websites such as Vice, Motherboard and Refinery29. The filing stated that the company had assets and liabilities valued between $500 million and $1 billion.
A group of creditors, which includes Fortress Investment Group, Soros Fund Management and Monroe Capital, made a conditional bid for substantially all of the company’s assets, according to Vice. The lenders agreed to provide approximately $225 million and would assume “significant liabilities” upon the closing of the deal.
The plan to sell the company comes weeks after they announced a major restructuring that will result in dozens of job cuts and the end of its popular program “Vice News Tonight.”
On the other hand, Vice appears to be hopeful that the sale will be a positive move in the long run.
Co-chief executive officers Bruce Dixon and Hozefa Lokhandwala said:
“This accelerated court-supervised sale process will strengthen the company and position Vice for long-term growth…We will have new ownership, a simplified capital structure and the ability to operate without the legacy liabilities that have been burdening our business. We look forward to… charting a healthy and successful next chapter at VICE.”
The bankruptcy filing comes amid a challenging period for several technology, news, and entertainment companies, as they resort to downsizing in recent months due to a turbulent economy and a weak advertising market.
In April, Buzzfeed said it would close down its news division altogether, and last week Paramount Media pulled the plug on MTV News.
As you may already know, recent reports revealed that the news production division of MTV is coming to an end after 36 years. The shutdown is reportedly the result of parent company Paramount Global dropping 25% of its staff. Many of the division’s former VJs and staff spoke out, sharing thoughtful memories and their sadness about the entire ordeal.
Former VJ (video jockey) Ananda Lewis, who worked for MTV News from 1996 – 2001 reportedly stated:
“A pillar of creative and diverse speech is crumbling. MTV News covered things no one else could…We could get inside the trailer with DMX and Korn as they were taking historic concert stages. Artists trusted MTV News to tell their stories.”

Bellevue Hospital has spoken out amid a viral, racially-charged video involving one of their employees.
Recently, a white woman was caught falsely accusing a young, Black male of hijacking a CitiBike that she seemingly claimed belonged to her.
The accuser
Following the occurrence, the NYC-based center addressed the incident via a statement released on its social media accounts.
“We have recently become aware of an incident that occurred off campus over the weekend and appears to involve one of our employees. We are sorry this happened and we are reviewing the incident.”
The facility continued by elaborating on its mission as the oldest and one of the largest health providers in America. The statement added,
“NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all New Yorkers with dignity, cultural sensitivity, and compassion.”
In the one-minute-and-a-half clip, the woman (who has been identified as Sarah Jane Comrie in some reports) can be seen in her medical scrubs, tugging on the CitiBike as she repeatedly yells “Help me” and “Get off me” at a young Black man. It’s important to note that the video shows the young man trying not to touch the woman as she attempts to push him away from the bike.
She then proceeds to take his phone out of his hand, while his friend is recording the incident. Seconds into the matter, someone who appears to be Comrie’s co-worker arrives, and she suddenly grows extremely emotional.
The (suspected) fellow Bellevue Hospital employee is heard trying to find a resolution for the issue as the Black man is simultaneously explaining that despite the woman’s (fake) tears, he didn’t do anything wrong. He also notes that he paid to rent the bicycle.
Ultimately, Comrie finally agrees to take another CitiBike… with the encouragement of her colleague.

Science never ceases to amaze us!
According to new findings, the United Kingdom just saw its first babies (reportedly fewer than five) born from the DNA of three individuals after the doctors performed an innovative technique by the name of mitochondrial donation treatment.

The operation, which was created with the intent to prevent offspring from “inheriting incurable diseases,” utilizes egg tissue from healthy female donors to produce IVF embryos that don’t contain dangerous mutations that their carrier could pass down.
Reportedly, the embryos consist of sperm and egg from their biological parents with mitochondria (small “battery-like” structures) from the donor’s egg. Infants birthed through the procedure have DNA from the mother and father, plus an estimate of 37 genes from the donor.
Researchers first conducted mitochondrial replacement therapy (different term, same process) at the Newcastle Fertility Centre in the United Kingdom, with the sole purpose to aid women with mutated mitochondria to have genetic-disorder-free pregnancies.
An article explaining the harm of mitochondrial issues from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia read:
“Mitochondrial disorders impair the function of mitochondria, the tiny compartments in every cell of the body that produce the energy needed by cells. Depending on which cells have fewer or lower-functioning mitochondria, different symptoms may occur. Organs and other parts of the body that require more energy, such as the heart, muscles, and brain, are often affected. Mitochondrial disease is the name for a large number of mitochondrial disorders, with different genetic causes and presentations.”

After receiving approval from the parliament to go forward with it, the Newcastle clinic was officially licensed to execute the mitochondrial treatment for mothers.
A breakdown of the process detailed,
“First, the sperm from the father is used to [fertilize] the eggs from the affected mother and a healthy female donor. The nuclear genetic material from the donor’s egg is then removed and replaced with that from the couple’s [fertilized] egg. The resulting egg has a full set of chromosomes from both parents but carries the donor’s healthy mitochondria instead of the mother’s faulty ones. This is then implanted in the woman.”
While the United Kingdom is known for pioneering mitochondrial replacement therapy, the world’s first baby born through mitochondrial donation treatment reportedly happened in the United States back in 2016.
When speaking of reversal complications that could happen with the procedure, the University of Oxford’s Professor Dagan Wells (Reproductive Genetics) added:
“So far, the clinical experience with MRT has been encouraging, but the number of reported cases is far too small to draw any definitive conclusions about the safety or efficacy [of it]. Long-term follow-up of the children born is essential.”

It’s no secret that things on the Bird app have been very chaotic since Elon Musk acquired the platform for a reported $44B in October. In addition to multiple issues that occurred within the company, countless users of the platform have been very vocal about not liking Elon Musk’s changes to the social media site.
It’s unclear if the constructive criticism weighed into his decision, but today (May 11) the billionaire announced that he’s stepping down as Twitter CEO and has hired someone else for the job. Elon will soon move to a product and technical role. He revealed:
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!
My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”
Original story: (Oct. 5, 2022): After much back and forth, Elon Musk has agreed to buy Twitter for the original offer price of $44B.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk will proceed with his bid to buy Twitter after all. The update comes after an amended securities filing shared by Twitter on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
In a letter to Twitter, Elon Musk and the holding companies created to oversee the merger indicated that he would close the transaction at a price of $54.20 per share.
The company’s shares surged after the announcement, closing the trading day up 22%. Musk’s decision comes days before he was expected to be deposed by Twitter’s lawyers in the social network’s lawsuit seeking to force him to honor the initial offer.
The SpaceX CEO initially agreed to buy Twitter in April for $54.20 per share, but he pulled out of the deal shortly thereafter on July 8, prompting Twitter to sue. Musk argued at the time that important information was being withheld by Twitter. In an SEC filing, his team said that he wanted to understand how many of Twitter’s mDAUs (monetizable daily active users) were fake or spam accounts.

But Twitter struck back, claiming Musk acted in “bad faith,” and filed a lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court hoping Musk would be forced to honor his deal.
The documents stated:
“In April 2022, Elon Musk entered into a binding merger agreement with Twitter, promising to use his best efforts to get the deal done. Now, less than three months later, Musk refuses to honor his obligations to Twitter and its stockholders because the deal he signed no longer serves his personal interests.”
Twitter’s statement continued:
“Having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play, and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he — unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law — is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away.”
Following Musk’s re-offer, it’s expected that he’ll soon assume control of the social media platform. Meanwhile, how he’ll manage the platform remains a contentious talking point for many users. Musk has been vocal about restoring former president Donald Trump’s account as well as making the company private to prevent bots. It’s widely felt that these objectionable views will definitely cause friction with the Twitterverse.

It looks like Cardi B is one step closer to collecting the money she is owed from Tasha K.
According to AllHipHop, a writ of execution was filed against Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe) and Kebe Studios LLC in Georgia on Thursday (April 20). A writ of execution is a court order granted to put in force a judgment of possession obtained by a plaintiff from a court. The court order has cleared a path for Cardi B (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar) to collect the judgment awarded to her in a defamation lawsuit.
As previously reported, Cardi B’s legal team has been working overtime to get the millions the rapper is owed from Tasha K. In 2022, Cardi B won a $4 million judgment against Tasha K who was held liable for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress after posting negligent YouTube content about the rapper. It’s been over a year since Cardi’s victory and she still allegedly hasn’t gotten paid.

Tasha K filed an appeal and also accused the judge who oversaw the trial of improperly allowing the exclusion of character evidence that was “extremely relevant” to show the jury what she deemed to be the real Cardi B.
Tasha’s attorneys argued that evidence about Cardi’s “character” should be able to be presented in a case centered on possible harm to the rapper’s reputation.
Tasha’s attorneys wrote in the court documents:
“The jury heard a very lopsided presentation of evidence and, because they did not get to learn who the plaintiff truly is, the jury returned a general verdict for the Plaintiff, against both Defendants.”
After months of their court battle, Tasha K issued a public apology to Cardi B on social media: She wrote,
