Dave Chappelle ‘Attacker’ Charged W/ Attempted Murder For Allegedly Stabbing Roommate Last Year

Some disturbing details have surfaced surrounding Dave Chappelle’s attacker.
Isaiah Lee, 23,–the man accused of attacking comedian Dave Chappelle, 48, on stage during a comedy show earlier this month – has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his roommate in December.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Isaiah Lee was caught on Thursday (May 19) in connection to a fight with his roommate at a transitional housing facility on December 2. Reportedly, Lee pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted murder over the violent incident. According to the DA’s office, the alleged victim identified Isaiah Lee as his attacker after the suspect gained significant media attention following the on-stage confrontation with Dave Chappelle earlier this month.

District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement:

“The publicity generated by the attack on Mr. Chappelle helped police solve this crime. The incident that occurred at the Hollywood Bowl was misdemeanor conduct and rightfully referred to the City Attorney’s Office. Based on the nature and severity of the December attack, Mr. Lee is now facing felony charges which my office will prosecute.”

As previously reported, Dave Chappelle was performing at the Hollywood Bowl on May 3 as part of the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival, when a man ran up on stage and tackled him. The man then ran back stage, where security quickly tackled him.

Reportedly, the attacker was carrying a plastic replica gun containing a knife. The man was removed in an ambulance with a broken arm and swollen face after security subdued him. Police arrested the suspect hours later for assault with a deadly weapon. According to Isaiah Lee’s brother, he is homeless and struggles with mental illness.

Isaiah Lee was initially charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, however, his charges were downgraded to four misdemeanors, including: battery, possessing a deadly weapon with intent to assault, unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance and commission of an act that delays the event or interferes with the performer. He appeared in court last week (May 10) for a bail review hearing at which the judge denied a request to have Lee’s bail reduced. He will remain in jail with bail set at $30,000.

Isaiah Lee’s s pretrial date for the Dave Chappelle incident is set for Friday (May 20). He is scheduled to make his next court appearance regarding the attempted murder on June 2.

Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West ‘Told Me My Career’s Over’ After Styling Herself Following Their Separation

Kim Kardashian is finding her place in the fashion world, despite what Kanye “Ye” West may think of her outfits!

On the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian, 41, opened up to her sister Kourtney Kardashian, 43, about insecurities she has surrounding her sense of style now that she’s no longer married to Kanye West, 44.

In November 2021, Kim Kardashian began styling herself after being with the Yeezy designer for nearly a decade. While speaking with Kourtney Kardashian during the episode, the SKIMS founder shared,

“I got to a point where I would ask [Kanye] for advice for everything down to what I wear. Even now I’m having panic attacks, like, what do I wear?”

According to Kim, she was “so nervous” to style herself for the Wall Street Journal Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards because her outfit wasn’t “pre-vetted” as usual. After winning the Brand Innovator Award for SKIMS, Kim ultimately chose a skintight chocolate leather dress from her SKIMS x Fendi collection to rock at the event ceremony.

However, it appears the socialites’ desired look didn’t meet Kanye West’s standards. Her former husband and stylist held nothing back as he criticized her outfit of choice, comparing it to something worn by the cartoon character Marge Simpson. Kim revealed,

“Then he [Kanye] called me afterwards. He told me my career’s over and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”

Kim and Kanye began dating in 2011 and were married for almost seven years before Kim filed for divorce in February of 2021. At the beginning of their relationship, Kanye began styling her and reportedly threw out all her clothes and shoes to change her entire wardrobe.

Katt Williams Explains Why He Doesn’t Do Comedy Clubs: It Got To The Point Where I’m Asking Other Comedians To Not Do Things [VIDEO]

Katt Williams recently took a look at his phenomenal career and dove into the reason why he doesn’t perform at comedy clubs anymore.

During a recent sit down with “Arsenio! Live,” which airs on Netflix Is A Joke’s YouTube channel, comedian/actor Katt Williams updated fans on why he isn’t seen working at a comedy club. Katt Williams, 50, has been in the comedic business since the early 1990’s. And now, the question is — how the comedic is able to put on a stellar performance without performing his routine in clubs.

Talk show host Arsenio Hall sparked the topic of the hugely popular stand-up comedian never working on his craft in a club and asked Williams where he tends to get “himself right” to perform. Williams answered and shared that he no longer practices in clubs due to being fair to his fellow comedian peers. He said,

“It got to the point where I’m asking other comedians to not do things that maybe they would want to do. So, it’s not really fair if I show you something and say ‘Don’t look at it.’ So I don’t do any practicing in clubs.”

Williams emphasized that his stance is based on the trust of the audience and having organic conversations, adding in that the conversations aren’t always pleasant to have. He continued,

“It’s that trust and the trust of the audience, we’re in a relationship. So I don’t have to go in and see if we’re still in a relationship and get it ready. I can organically trust that this is the conversation that we’re having because we need to have it, so it’s not always pleasant. I don’t want to talk about race and politics and stuff but that keeps happening. It just keeps being presented in a new way.”

Derek Chauvin Appeals His Conviction For George Floyd’s Murder, Asks For New Trial + Probe Finds Discrimination by Minneapolis Police

Derek Chauvin Appeals His Conviction For George Floyd’s Murder, Asks For New Trial

Nearly a year after he was convicted of murdering George Floyd, former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin has filed an appeal hoping to overturn the jury’s verdict and reduce his sentence.

Judge Peter Cahill sentenced Chauvin last June to 22 1/2 years in prison for the murder of George Floyd, after he was found guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Derek Chauvin, 46, is now asking the Minnesota Court of Appeals to overturn the jury’s verdict and take one of three actions: toss his conviction and send his case back to Hennepin County; reverse the result and order a new trial in a new venue; or order Chauvin to be sentenced to a lesser punishment.

George Floyd, Derek Chauvin

In court documents filed this week, Derek Chauvin’s attorney, William Mohrman, laid out a number of challenges to his conviction, including insisting that Judge Cahill should have moved the trial to another venue due to massive press coverage. Mohrman also said witnesses weren’t properly handled and jurors were intimidated by protests and security measures. He also alleges that prosecutorial misconduct and other factors prevented Chauvin from getting a fair trial in the popularized case.

Chauvin’s attorneys say Cahill didn’t apply the sentencing guidelines correctly. They argue, that the judge shouldn’t have included abuse of a position of authority as an aggravating factor in Floyd’s murder.

This appeal comes just days after the state of Minnesota issued a report criticizing the Minneapolis Police Department for a

“pattern or practice of race discrimination in violation of the Minnesota Human Rights Act.”

The report released Wednesday (Apr. 27) by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights followed a nearly two-year investigation into the police department shortly after George Floyd’s killing.  According to the report, the agency and the city will negotiate a court-enforceable agreement to address the long list of problems identified in the report, with input from residents, officers, city staff and others.

The report claims police department data,

“demonstrates significant racial disparities with respect to officers’ use of force, traffic stops, searches, citations, and arrests.”

It also said officers,

“used covert social media to surveil Black individuals and Black organizations, unrelated to criminal activity, and maintain an organizational culture where some officers and supervisors use racist, misogynistic, and disrespectful language with impunity.”

As previously reported, on May 25, 2020, Derek Chauvin responded to a call about the possible use of a counterfeit $20 bill at a local grocery store. George Floyd was accused of using the bill to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The police officer buried his knee into George’s neck, eventually resulting in his death. The incident was captured on multiple cell phone recordings. In 2021, Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts of murder and manslaughter.

Virginia News Reporter, Sierra Jenkins, Sadly Killed In Shooting Over Spilled Drink [Condolences]

This is just tragic.

According to reports, a Virginia news reporter was one of two people killed on March 19, outside of a bar and restaurant in Norfolk. Sierra Jenkins, a journalist with The Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press, was reportedly dining inside of Chicho’s Pizza Backstage when an argument broke out over a spilled drink, resulting in gunfire. Sierra Jenkins, 25, and 25-year-old Devon Harris were killed in the crossfire, which also injured three others.

When learning of the shooting, Sierra Jenkins‘ editor reportedly tried contacting her to assign Jenkins‘ the story, unaware that she was one of the victims.

“I’m devastated,” her friend Demmi Nimer told reporters via text.

“I was with her when everything happened and just wish I could’ve done more to help her.”

“This is another incident in which conflict resolution did not exist,” police chief Larry Boone added.

Authorities have not yet arrested a suspect, but are “cautiously optimistic” they will find those responsible due to the location of the shooting.

Sierra Jenkins was reportedly raised in Norfolk and attended college in Atlanta at Georgia State University. Her death comes just days after an Atlanta shooting claimed the life of LaKevia Jackson, who shared a teenage son with rapper Young Thug.

LaKevia Jackson was reportedly at a local bowling alley when she got into an argument with someone over a bowling ball. That person reportedly waited for her outside and fatally shot LaKevia Jackson as she was leaving the building. Police have not made an arrest in that shooting either.

ROLLING OUT AND LEXUS PARTNER WITH BLACK OWNED PEAR NOVA BEAUTY BRAND CEO, RACHEL JAMES, TO HIGHLIGHT NEXT LEVEL ELEVATION WITH THE ALL-NEW LEXUS NX

CHICAGO, IL – Lexus & rolling out are extremely proud to announce their partnership with Chicago native and Pear Nova beauty brand CEO, Rachel James, by launching a next-level branded content program during Women’s History Month. The campaign spotlights the All-New Lexus NX and centers around continuous progress.

“Collaborating with Lexus as a Black-owned media company demonstrates their commitment to diversity and allows us to execute a bold vision that empowers a community of young, gifted and Black creatives and entrepreneurs” said Munson Steed, CEO and Publisher of rolling out.

The next generation of entrepreneurs are creative breakouts who continue to activate their vision. This next-level-elevation can be seen in young and ambitious entrepreneurs, such as James, who named her beauty brand after her remarkable sister-in-love, Nova, and the nova pear tree, which is known to withstand extreme temperatures.

“While working with Lexus I learned that luxury is a feeling. It’s a mindset. It’s an experience. You define luxury. Luxury doesn’t define you. For me, leveling up means reaching, growing, and evolving. I’m constantly challenging myself to reach new goals, grow as a mother, entrepreneur, and human being, and evolve as I learn new things and build new skills. Reaching the next level is about progress, opportunity, and improvement, and it’s about overcoming obstacles to reach new heights,” James commented.

The campaign was directed by director and photographer, Bradley A. Murray at Chicago’s Sound Stage.

“I was extra excited about directing the Lexus campaign because I love Lexus. I’ve only owned Lexus vehicles, so it made sense,” Murray stated.

“When we started talking about who would fit best in the starring role, Rachel James came up and I thought immediately this fits her aesthetic as an entrepreneur. We really wanted to put an emphasis on understanding the entrepreneurial spirit and doing things differently, but also doing things in style and making it look good. I think that’s what Rachel lives for, she’s always polished,” Murray went on to say.

The campaign embodies elegance, luxury, and elevated hustle. The Lexus NX was spotlighted as a conduit to the next generation of movers and shakers, while speaking to business owners, artists, and creators alike. These people, similar to James, move to the cadence of their own imagination to elevate their hustle.

“We are excited to leverage our Lexus NX platform to celebrate entrepreneurs like Rachel James,” said Mia Phillips, Senior Manager, Lexus Advertising and Media. “We hope this campaign will inspire the next generation of Black creators and business owners to pursue their dreams and elevate them to the next level.”
